Welcome to thebreedingshed – covering pedigrees and horse racing worldwide

thebreedingshed enters its fourth full year in 2018 having been  created late in 2014 in order to combine two of my main interests; writing and thoroughbred pedigrees. I have no family background in the sport of horse racing, still less in the bloodstock industry. I studied to be a linguist, with racing no more than a hobby back then, but I am fortunate that I have now been earning a living for more than twenty years writing about horses, racing and pedigrees. Alongside what I do in my ‘real job’, thebreedingshed allows me to continue enjoying racing as a hobby and gives me the freedom to write about bloodstock topics of a personal interest. I try to write two or three articles per month as time allows.

Readers from more than forty countries visited thebreedingshed in 2017. The top ten countries by views in 2017 were: USA (32.6%), UK (23.6%), Germany (12.7%), Australia (8.1%), Ireland (6.8%), France (2.8%), Italy (1.9%), Canada (1.6%), Japan (1.5%), Hungary (0.7%).
